The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Authority is a public entity created by state statute to enable and assist with the financing of public projects pursuant to IC-36-7-14.5.

Redevelopment Department
The Redevelopment Department pursues aggressive development partnerships between the public and private sectors. As part of the department's economic development efforts, staff provide direct liaison/support to Greater Fort Wayne Inc., support international trade, and provide services that support and stimulate business growth, community investment and development. The Department includes:
Redevelopment Commission promotes and implements opportunity projects, acting as a catalyst to develop areas that have shown a cessation of growth and lack of development. This is done through techniques including real estate acquisition, site preparation and/or providing public infrastructure to the site. Financing resources generally used are Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) and Redevelopment General Obligation Bonds.
Urban Enterprise Association (UEA) works to revitalize Fort Wayne's industrial core. The UEA works to foster growth of new and established businesses, create and retain jobs, make physical improvements, and enhance the well-being of area residents.

Our vision for this site is a lively and engaging mixed-use center of activity that incorporates a diverse range of uses, such as entertainment, housing, employment, hospitality, social activities, recreation, restaurants, and retail. It emphasizes urban design principles that prioritize enjoyable, active, and human-scale spaces, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor areas and providing flexible and programmable outdoor spaces. It reinforces our core belief that Riverfront is for everyone, andembraces best practices in inclusivity and sustainability.

Economic Development Commission
The Fort Wayne Economic Development Commission (EDC) was established in 1972 with the authority to issue tax exempt revenue bonds to assist industrial and commercial development, and upon the recommendation of the Commission, Fort Wayne Common Council will consider new additions to the City's Economic Development Target Areas. Operating under Bylaws in accordance with the Indiana Code, the EDC consists of five members with staggered terms. The 2022 EDC schedule of regular meetings and due dates for Economic Development Revenue Bond applications can be found here. Any meeting cancellations can be seen below.
