City announces Emergency Rental Assistance Program to reopen

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services has announced today the Emergency Rental Assistance program will reopen on Monday, Feb. 21.

The City  has received an additional $6.3 million to provide assistance to renters who have fallen behind on rent and utility bills as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The City previously distributed more than $13.6 million in Emergency Rental Assistance.

COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Thank you for your interest in the City of Fort Wayne Emergency Rental Assistance program. Due to fund availability, the program is now closed to new applicants. The last day to apply for the program was May 20th. We will continue to review and approve previously submitted applications until all funding has been exhausted. Applications submitted are not guaranteed financial assistance.

The Indiana Emergency Rental Assistance (IERA) program is currently accepting applications. Please visit indanahousingnow.org to apply for assistance.
