The City Redevelopment Commission is investing in infrastructure to support business growth in northwest Fort Wayne. Two businesses are constructing new buildings in Summit Park II and expanding their operations, while Alconex is building a new facility nearby along Ludwig Road.
Ironworkers Local 166 is constructing a new building in Summit Park II, owned by the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission, and Tippman Refrigeration also has plans to build a facility in the industrial park. The land for Summit Park II was purchased in 2000 and the Redevelopment Commission invested in infrastructure such as utilities and streets in order to make it “shovel ready” for businesses. The park has 11 lots and just four remain for purchase. The Commission has also invested in sidewalks in the area on the north side of Washington Center Road from North Oak Drive to just east of Innovation Boulevard and will fund the installation of a much-needed traffic signal at the Washington Center Road/Cross Creek Boulevard intersection.
