The City of Fort Wayne’s Summit City Entrepreneur & Enterprise District (SEED) is partnering with a nationally ranked startup accelerator to launch a program for local emerging businesses.

genera8tor is a national accelerator that offers a program called gBETA. gBETA will offer a free accelerator for five early-stage companies in Fort Wayne. Participants receive intensive and individualized coaching and access to a national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. gBETA is designed to help startups gain early customer traction on their product or idea and establish metrics that make them competitive applicants for investment.

“Our SEED Board of Directors received multiple high-profile endorsements for the gBETA program that were important to the decision to host the program in Fort Wayne. We believe that this initial collaboration with gener8tor will lead to additional cohorts in our community in 2020 and beyond,” said SEED Fort Wayne Director Trois Hart.

“I’m looking forward to bringing the gBETA opportunity to companies who were unable to participate in the Indianapolis program because they weren’t located in central Indiana,” said gBETA Managing Director Chelsea Linder. “I truly believe accelerators are the best way to set a startup on a path to success, and supporting five Fort Wayne companies each year will have a sizeable economic impact on the region.”

The Fort Wayne gBETA program is a result of a partnership with SEED Fort Wayne, the City of Fort Wayne and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). Local startups interested in applying to the Fort Wayne Spring 2020 gBETA program should visit https://www.gbetastartups.com/indiana. Applications will be accepted through March 27, 2020.
