The former Baltes-Cambray Building, circa 1895, is now in its final location on the southeast corner of Superior and Harrison Streets, 177 W. Superior Street.
The historic building was scheduled to be demolished to make way for construction of Promenade Park when Bud Hall stepped forward to save the building. It was moved from its original location at 312 S. Harrison St. across Harrison to the east on January 29, 2018. Then, Allen County deeded the property at 177 W. Superior St. to the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission and the Commission deeded it to Don Hall’s Restaurants. Hall’s intends to renovate the building into a modern bar and restaurant.
This latest development is all part of the emerging Riverfront Fort Wayne neighborhood, which will include public spaces, commercial, retail, restaurant and residential spaces. For more information about Riverfront Fort Wayne, visit www.RiverfrontFW.org.
