Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne Administration and Community Development Division today announced a major private investment is planned for the North River site.

More Brewing Company, which has three locations in the Chicago area, is planning to invest approximately $6 million to build a two-story, 16,000 square foot restaurant and brewery, located just north of the riverfront public space and near the intersection of Fourth and Calhoun streets. This would be the first project to be constructed at North River. 

Fort Wayne, Ind. –The Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services will begin accepting applications for the City of Fort Wayne’s Roof Program. This program offers qualified residents a zero percent interest loan for roof replacement for their homes. The loans will be secured by a mortgage and repayment will be required through monthly installments over a 10-year period. 

Qualified applicants must own their home, it must be their primary residence and the home must be located within City of Fort Wayne limits. Applicants must also have a household income at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry today announced the City of Fort Wayne will invest approximately $490,895 in federal dollars in 21 local non-profit programs.

The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds will help low- and moderate-income residents with shelter, employment skills, domestic violence support and youth development.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne’s Neighborhood Planning and Activation workgroup in coordination with the Northside, Forest Park, and North Anthony neighborhood associations is seeking input from area residents, business owners, and organizations as part of a new neighborhood plan. With community input, the new plan will establish a vision and make recommendations to help guide future growth, redevelopment, and preservation efforts in the area.

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission today approved an economic development agreement for Phase I of a multi-phase mixed-use project called Village Premier in southeast Fort Wayne. The $55 million development will transform more than 20 acres of vacant, City of Fort Wayne-owned land located near the intersection of South Anthony Boulevard and McKinnie Avenue into a vibrant, walkable neighborhood.  

Phase I includes more than 200 units of income-based housing and at least nine units of market rate for-sale single family homes at an estimated investment of almost $40 million.  Future phases will include senior housing along with commercial/ retail space, daycare, health clinic, additional for-sale single family housing, and other public amenities.
