The City of Fort Wayne Public Art Program was established on March 28, 2018. The Public Art Program seeks to enhance the visual environment and strengthen the positive reputation, brand, and stature of Ft. Wayne and its neighborhoods by promoting and integrating public art throughout the city. See adopted ordinance here.

The Commission:

The Fort Wayne Public Art Program is overseen by a 13-member volunteer Public Art Commission made up of appointments from arts organizations, arts schools, as well as the City Council and Mayor’s Office. Additional commission and project support are provided by a number of Advisory Ex-Officio members serving the community.

How do I submit an Idea or Project?

The Fort Wayne Public Art Commission provides several opportunities to review and approve public art projects, the process which can be found in the Public Art Program Guidelines

• A Selection Committee is formed if the project requires the creation of new work.

• A Review Committee is formed if the artwork is acquired, accepts a donation of existing artwork or the artist/sponsor submits a proposal for artwork in an approved public location and/or using public funds.

If you are interested in submitting an idea or project for the Fort Wayne Public Art Commission to review, please contact Dan Baisden Staff Manager for the Public Art Commission at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
