The latest efforts to provide a welcoming entrance to our community are now complete. Local artists Jerrod and Kara Tobias have completed a mural along the underpass at Clay and Main streets.

Tobias smallerThis underpass acts as a gateway from the north side neighborhoods into downtown Fort Wayne and specifically into the arts campus. The mural and work to beautify the area are part of the City’s comprehensive plan, called Front Door Fort Wayne, to transform the most well-traveled corridors and gateways and welcome people to the community. The mural is funded by Legacy dollars. Additional work included repairing and painting the underpass and installing lights to illuminate the mural. Some of this work has been funded by the City of Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission. Future phases may include installation of metal sculptural dancers, which will be backlit to make it look as if they are dancing.
