Fort Wayne, Ind. - Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry today announced that Greg Leatherman has been promoted to director of community development for the City of Fort Wayne.

Leatherman has nearly 25 years of experience in local government and business. Since 2007, he's served as executive director of the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission. In addition, since 2004, Leatherman has served as deputy director of community development for the City of Fort Wayne.

From 2002-2004, Leatherman was the neighborhood code enforcement administrator for the City. From 1998-2002, he served as brownfield manager for the City's Redevelopment Department. Leatherman also has experience in the private sector with leadership positions at Sturges Griffin & Trent and ATC Environmental Consulting.

"Greg is a dedicated public servant who's experience and expertise will benefit our team as we invest in the future of our community," said Mayor Henry. "Greg's leadership skills and abilities have been evident in his involvement with several important projects that have led to job growth and economic development opportunities for our City."

Leatherman has a bachelor's degree from Trevecca University and a master'sdegree from Indiana University. He will begin his duties as director of community development immediately.
