The City’s homeowner repair program is closed at this time. Please continue to check this site and local media for information about the next program.
In order to help preserve the City's existing housing stock and stabilize neighborhoods, the City of Fort Wayne periodically operates home repair programs for owner-occupants. The programs typically provide forgivable or low-interest loans to qualified homeowners for home improvements projects, such as installing new windows or a new furnace.
The U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the primary funder of the City’s home repair programs, which are operated by the City’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services (OHNS). HUD has delayed approval of Annual Action Plans for communities across the United States thereby delaying the release of funds for programming. OHNS expects to update the website with relevant information about any programs to be offered as soon as HUD issues its approval of the City’s Annual Action Plan and releases funding.
In the meantime, OHNS will continue to seek out & share information about other agencies and institutions that offer similar types of home repair programs. Currently, the following offer specialized programs in partnership with the City of Fort Wayne. Click to learn more about each program and how to access available resources.
