There is a detailed process for authorizing a specific business, warehouse or factory to function as an extension of a Foreign Trade Zone. This process is called site activation and includes a variety requirements, including background checks, analysis of your inventory system, review of building blueprints, establishing a surety bond, and other steps to satisfy the government that goods will enter and leave your facilities in full compliance with the rules and regulations governing FTZ operations.
